Two parts, shown before you book: the notarial fee, at the Texas maximum, and a travel fee by road miles.

Notarial fees
Notarial actOur feeTexas maximum
Acknowledgment, first signature$10$10
Each additional signature on the same acknowledgment certificate$1$1
Jurat, or oath or affirmation with certificate and seal$10$10

A separate certificate is a separate notarial act with its own fee.

The Texas maximums

Texas Government Code section 406.024 sets the most a notary may charge:

  • An acknowledgment or proof: $10 for the first signature and $1 for each additional signature on the same acknowledgment certificate.
  • An oath or affirmation with a certificate and seal: $10.
  • A notarial act not otherwise provided for in the fee statute: $10.

Travel fee

The travel fee is a separately disclosed charge for travel, not a notarial fee. It depends on the road miles from our base near Stone Oak & US-281 to your address. The booking page checks your address and shows the travel fee before you choose a time, so it is agreed before the visit. See the service area.

Distance from our baseTravel fee
Up to 5 road miles$15
Up to 10 road miles$24
Up to 20 road miles$39
Up to 30 road miles$54

Beyond 30 road miles, the road miles are rounded up to the next whole mile.

An example

One signer, one acknowledgment, 8 road miles from our base: $10 notarial fee + $24 travel fee = $34.

Cancelling

You may cancel at no charge until 1 hour before the start time. For a later cancellation, a signer who does not appear, a signer without identification Texas accepts, or an incomplete document that cannot be fixed at the visit, the fee is 15% of the travel fee, charged only if the notary records it. Any other refusal by the notary carries no fee.

See the cancellation policy for every case, and what to bring so the visit can go ahead.

Paying

Your card is saved through Stripe when you book. It is charged after the notarizations are completed, for the notarial acts performed plus travel, never more than the quoted total. If the notary refuses, there is no charge, except the fee above for a signer who does not appear, a signer without identification Texas accepts, or an incomplete document that cannot be fixed at the visit.

Nothing else is added to the notarial fee and the travel fee. Travel fees and the 15% fee include Texas state and local sales and use tax. Notarial fees are not taxed.

Online notarization

Online notarization through notarizetexas.io is coming soon. Its price will be listed here when it opens.
